Smell good, feel good, do good
Aloha from the Big Island!
My name is Amanda and here is my story
When I was a kid one of my prized possessions was my scratch n' sniff sticker book collection. I still have it today. Scent has always been important to me and still is. In my college years I made soaps, bubble bath and lotions as gifts. This became something I did during the holidays.
In 2007 a store opened up in my hometown of Tucson, Arizona that custom created your own perfume, lotions, and a do it yourself custom mask bar. I was hooked and had to work there! I was lucky enough to get the job and the owner trained me on the art of blending. I'm forever grateful for the opportunity I had there and learned so much.
I began esthetics school and graduated in 2010. A year and half later I opened a day spa. It was wonderful getting to work with skin and learn even more about ingredients and how they work.
I took this knowledge and passion and began learning how to formulate.
My family and I moved to the Big Island of Hawaii in 2016 and I decided that I wanted to move forward with combining my love of formulating, scents and soapmaking. Paper Crane Soaps was launched!
Many people ask why I named my company how I did. My husband and I met in high school and he would fold them for me and he continues to do this now. The image is my love story and it brings a smile to my face thinking about it.
I love what I do and I'm lucky getting the opportunity to do it everyday
Mahalo to you
